Cross in Crisis - Ascend in Adversity Part 1
Hey there,
We've finally reached the end of our "Cross in Crisis" blog series, and what a journey it's been! Today, we're wrapping things up with "Ascend in Adversity," bringing our adventure full circle.
So, picture this: the COVID-19 crisis hits, and suddenly, my mom and I are trying to figure out this whole new normal thing during a grocery run. Right at the entrance, we spot a sign that says, "No more paper coupons; all promotions are now digital for the safety of our staff and members." I turned to my mom and said, "It's about time, right?"
It's wild how a crisis has this way of pushing us toward innovation and making us adapt. We're all comfy in our routines until something big comes along and gives us a nudge (or a shove) towards something new.
I've been following this Apostle who shared something that really hit home for me: "Crossover after Passover." It's all about moving beyond the crisis, just like Jesus did when He went from death to eternal life.
Think about it: Jesus' body was in the tomb, but His spirit? It was busy continuing the mission. Before He made His way up to heaven, He took a little detour down to hell (check out 1 Peter 3:19 if you're curious).
"Ascend" means to go up, and "descend" is the opposite. Jesus showed us that even when we feel trapped by physical limits, our spirits and souls are free to soar and grow. It's a reminder that we're not just our bodies; there's so much more to us.
Paul hits the nail on the head in 1 Corinthians 4:16-18. He's like, "Don't give up, even when things are falling apart on the outside. Inside, you're getting stronger every day. This tough stuff? It's temporary. But what we can't see, that's what lasts forever."
Jesus' story didn't end with His death. Thanks to Holy Spirit, He rose again, showing us that moving forward is what it's all about.
So, what's the takeaway? Keep pushing, keep growing. There's always work to be done, and no time for sitting around.
