Cross in Crisis - Don't Panic, Pivot!

Hey there,

Let's chat about what it means to pivot. Imagine spinning around a point or suddenly changing your mind about something. That's pivoting for you, in a nutshell.

Now, think about those times when everything just seems to go wrong, and we react without thinking. It's like a domino effect of bad choices, leading to things like arguments, making bad decisions, or even worse.

But let's take a page out of Jesus's book during one of his toughest times – the cross. He faced it head-on without losing his cool.

So, how did he manage that?

Back in the day, the Romans had this harsh punishment called scourging. It was pretty gruesome, involving a whip with metal pieces that literally tore the flesh off. Most people wouldn't survive it because of the massive blood loss.

But Jesus? He made it through, which was nothing short of a miracle.

In the medical world, stopping the bleeding is critical to saving a life. And here was Jesus, in the middle of a real-life crime scene, bleeding profusely but not giving up.

He could've easily thrown in the towel and said, "I can't handle this." But no, he kept going (John 10:17-18). He knew he had to face the cross, and nothing was going to stop him.

And here's where the pivot comes in. Instead of focusing on his pain and the unfairness of it all, Jesus turned his attention to helping others.

He spoke to a criminal hanging next to him, offering hope. He made sure his mom would be taken care of by asking his friend John to look after her.

And then there's this moment where Jesus said he was thirsty. But it wasn't just about needing a drink. It was deeper than that. He was expressing a deep desire for making things right, for fulfilling his mission.

Jesus showed us that, yes, life's going to throw crises our way. It's inevitable. But it's how we handle them that counts.

Through our 'Ignite Your Impact' Marketplace Memo, we're here to give you that little boost of encouragement and insight to help you navigate through life's challenges.

So, let's think about how we can pivot in our own lives, turning tough situations into opportunities to grow and help others.

Stay blessed,
