The Lion King

JESUS: THE LAMB OF GOD, THE LION OF JUDAH, AND OUR SOVEREIGN KING -- HE IS THE LION KING!

Oh, "The Lion King," how it tugs at the heartstrings! Watching the remake, I couldn't help but belt out the songs and bask in the nostalgia. But let's be real, this movie is so much more than a trip down memory lane. It's packed with wisdom on identity, leadership, relationships, love, family, friendship, and what it means to rule. And the laughs? Just the icing on the cake.

This cinematic gem really got me thinking—Jesus is the ultimate Lion King. The Bible doesn't hold back with its symbols, and the Lion of Judah stands out as a powerful representation of Christ's majesty. He's not just any king; He's the King of kings, the big boss with unmatched authority.

In 1 Peter 5:8, we're told, “...Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”

Kinda sends shivers down your spine, right?

But here's the thing: there's a world of difference between playing dress-up and being the real deal. Imagine someone saying you look like a celebrity or sound like a famous singer.

Flattering? Maybe.

But we all know originals are worth more than copies. Why settle for an imitation when you can have the real thing? Satan, well, he's the knock-off version. Think of Scar from "The Lion King"—sneaky, destructive, and all about deception, just like the devil.

Scar tried to steal the throne, a total fake-out because Mufasa was the true king, and Simba was next in line. But here's the kicker: if Simba hadn't stepped up, Scar would've kept playing king. Just like Scar, the enemy has a plan to mess with your life.

But guess what? You, like Simba, are meant to claim your rightful place, wielding the authority you've inherited through Jesus Christ.

As co-heirs with Christ, we're given a share of His authority and blessings (Romans 8:17). Jesus, having all authority, passes some of that power to us (Luke 10:19). The enemy might try to scare us with his roar, but remember, he's just a copycat. He can't create; he can only imitate.

So, when you hear that roar trying to intimidate you, roar back with the authority you've been given.

Lost your roar? Don't worry, restoration is closer than you think. God will restore your roar.

Let's not forget, in the grand story of life, Jesus is the real Lion King, and we're part of His royal family.

Keeping that royal vibe alive is what our 'Ignite Your Impact'  Monday Memo is all about. It's your weekly dose of inspiration to help you connect with your inner monarch.

Now, let's get something straight: the battle?

Satan has already been defeated and you have been seated. Yes! Seated with Christ in heavenly places.

So we don’t roar for victory, we roar from victory. The enemy impersonates himself as a lion but you have the real Lion inside of you

Let out the ROARRRRRR!!!!

Stay inspired, stay royal,
Dr. Gwendolyn
